ACURA NSX FOR SALE

The Acura NSX has spent two generations challenging assumptions about what an exotic car should be. The original combined a mid-engine layout, lightweight aluminum construction, high-revving VTEC power, exceptional visibility, and everyday drivability in a package that changed the supercar world. More than two decades later, Acura reinvented the idea with a twin-turbocharged V6, three electric motors, torque-vectoring all-wheel drive, and a nine-speed dual-clutch transmission. The technology changed dramatically, but the mission remained familiar: make extraordinary performance approachable enough to actually enjoy. THE-BOSS offers distinctive Acura NSX models from Dallas, Texas, to enthusiasts nationwide, with free nationwide shipping included with every vehicle purchase.

WHY THE ACURA NSX STANDS APART

Few performance cars have reinvented themselves as dramatically as the NSX while remaining faithful to the same driver-first philosophy.
The first generation arrived with an all-aluminum monocoque, mid-mounted VTEC V6, lightweight suspension components, exceptional visibility, and a level of refinement that challenged the idea that exotic cars needed to be temperamental. The second generation approached the same mission through entirely different technology, combining a bespoke twin-turbocharged V6 with three electric motors and torque-vectoring Sport Hybrid SH-AWD. The standard second-generation car produces 573 horsepower, while the final NSX Type S raises output to 600 horsepower. One generation emphasizes lightness, naturally aspirated response, and mechanical simplicity; the other uses electrification, instantaneous torque, and sophisticated chassis control to create speed in a completely different way.
At THE-BOSS, we appreciate the NSX because its two generations tell completely different stories while sharing the same idea: advanced engineering should make a performance car more rewarding to drive, not more difficult to enjoy.

WHAT DEFINES THE ACURA NSX

SPORT HYBRID SH-AWDThe second-generation NSX was built around Acura's Sport Hybrid Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system, one of the technologies that makes the car fundamentally different from most other mid-engine supercars of its era. A pair of electric motors independently powers the front wheels, while the twin-turbocharged V6 and a third electric motor drive the rear axle. The system can add or subtract torque independently at each front wheel, giving the NSX the ability to actively influence how the car rotates into a corner rather than relying only on mechanical differentials and braking intervention.
That front Twin Motor Unit also changes the way the NSX behaves under acceleration and braking. Electric torque arrives immediately when the throttle is opened, while the front motors can recover energy during deceleration and contribute to the car's yaw control as it enters a corner. Acura designed the system so electrification would improve acceleration, turn-in, traction, and stability at the same time. The result is not simply an all-wheel-drive hybrid drivetrain, but a system that actively shapes the way the entire car moves.

TWIN-TURBO V6 & THREE ELECTRIC MOTORSAt the center of the NSX sits a bespoke 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6 mounted longitudinally behind the cabin. The combustion engine produces 500 horsepower on its own and works with three electric motors to create a combined system output of 573 horsepower. One Direct Drive Motor is mounted at the rear alongside the V6 and transmission, while two additional motors form the front Twin Motor Unit. Together, the system gives the NSX immediate electric response at low speed and strong turbocharged power as the engine builds revs.
The hybrid system was engineered around Acura's idea of "zero delay." The electric motors begin producing torque the moment the accelerator is pressed, helping fill the gap before the turbochargers reach full output. That gives the NSX a very different power delivery from a conventional twin-turbo supercar. Instead of waiting for boost to build before the car begins pulling hard, electric torque and combustion power overlap, creating a smooth surge of acceleration that continues as the V6 becomes increasingly dominant.

9-SPEED DUAL-CLUTCH TRANSMISSIONThe NSX uses a bespoke nine-speed dual-clutch transmission designed specifically around its hybrid powertrain. First gear is extremely short to maximize launch acceleration, gears two through eight remain closely spaced to keep the V6 within its strongest power range, and ninth gear acts as a relaxed highway ratio. Acura also positioned the clutch and differential side by side inside the transmission housing, helping shorten the drivetrain package and move mass closer to the center of the car.
The transmission works directly with the V6 and rear electric motor rather than functioning as an isolated gearbox. Electric torque helps smooth the transition between engine speeds, while the dual-clutch design allows extremely fast gear changes when the car is driven aggressively. Move through the NSX's more performance-focused drive modes, and shift behavior becomes progressively sharper, allowing the drivetrain to change from smooth and relaxed to noticeably more urgent without altering the fundamental character of the powertrain.

MULTI-MATERIAL SPACE FRAMEThe NSX is built around an aluminum-intensive multi-material space frame created specifically to handle the demands of its hybrid drivetrain and torque-vectoring chassis. Acura used aluminum extrusions and castings throughout the structure, carbon fiber in the floor, and ultra-high-strength steel for the A-pillars. The car also introduced ablation-cast aluminum structural nodes in key areas, a process Acura described as a world-first automotive application when the NSX entered production.
That structure was designed for more than simply reducing weight. High torsional rigidity allows the suspension, steering, and Sport Hybrid SH-AWD system to react more precisely because less movement is being lost through chassis flex. Acura also mounted the engine inside a rigid aluminum subframe using specially designed hydraulic mounts, helping control movement from the powertrain while reducing unwanted vibration. The combination gives the NSX the stiffness required for supercar-level handling while preserving the refinement that has always been part of the model's identity.

INTEGRATED DYNAMICS & ACTIVE SUSPENSIONThe NSX brings its powertrain, suspension, steering, hybrid system, and electronic controls together through the Integrated Dynamics System. Four primary modes, Quiet, Sport, Sport+, and Track, progressively alter throttle response, transmission behavior, electric-motor output, steering feel, magnetorheological dampers, stability control, and the behavior of Sport Hybrid SH-AWD. Quiet mode can even allow limited low-speed electric operation, while Sport+ and Track transform the car into something far more aggressive.
Third-generation magnetorheological dampers sit at all four corners and can alter their behavior almost instantly as road conditions and driver inputs change. In Sport+, Acura combines firmer damping with more aggressive throttle mapping, faster transmission shifts, stronger electric-motor assistance, and more assertive torque-vectoring behavior. Track mode goes further by prioritizing battery state of charge, launch performance, braking response, and consistent delivery from all three electric motors. That ability to coordinate nearly every major system is what allows the NSX to move from quiet road car to serious performance machine without changing its underlying hardware.

BUYING AN ACURA NSX

Buying an Acura NSX starts with deciding which era of the car speaks to you most. First-generation examples offer the lightweight, naturally aspirated, analog experience that made the original famous, while second-generation cars add twin-turbo power, three electric motors, all-wheel-drive torque vectoring, and far more technology. Beyond generation, compare mileage, service history, originality, transmission, factory colors, interior condition, wheel condition, available records, and any previous modifications. On rare first-generation variants or Type S models, correct factory equipment and documentation can matter just as much as mileage.
Think about how you want to enjoy the car as well. Some buyers want the purity of an early manual NSX, while others prefer the open-air character of an NSX-T, the technology and instant response of a second-generation Sport Hybrid model, or the rarity of the final Type S. At THE-BOSS, we help customers understand the differences between available examples and compare individual specifications rather than choosing by year or mileage alone. Whether you want a modern hybrid supercar or a preserved analog icon, the right NSX should feel special every time you drive it and reward you with every mile behind the wheel.
